Will + verb + present tense

Hi, I have a question regarding the following.

(Future context) I will do whatever I am able to --> present tense used to talk about the future state

What about this:
I will do whatever I can (Is it another case of present tense for future context or does it mean 'I will do all the things I can do at this moment'?)
