Will there be a typing test for the NTPC exam if I said no on typing proficiency in the application but selected posts that need typing?

For the RRB NTPC exam, a typing proficiency test is not required for all positions. However, three specific posts do require it:

  1. Junior Account Assistant Cum Typist (JAA)
  2. Senior Clerk Cum Typist (SC)
  3. Senior Time Keeper (STK)

The typing test, administered by the Railway Board, will be conducted in either Hindi or English based on the language you selected when filling out the RRB NTPC Online Application Form. Here’s an overview of the typing test:

  • Duration: 10 minutes
  • Speed Requirements: 30 words per minute (WPM) in English and 25 WPM in Hindi
  • Mode: Online
  • Tools: Editing tools and spell check will be disabled
  • Error Tolerance: 5% of mistakes in the total words typed will be ignored. Mistakes beyond this will result in deductions from the total words typed to calculate the final typing speed.

Important Instructions for the RRB NTPC Typing Test:

  • The typing test is qualifying. Only candidates who meet the minimum typing speed will be considered for the final merit list.
  • Candidates who do not pass the typing test will be disqualified from further stages of the selection process, even if they pass the Final Written Test.
  • If you finish typing the paragraph before the allotted time, you may retype it as many times as needed until the time expires. All versions of the paragraph will be evaluated to determine your typing speed.
  • Fonts Available: For Hindi, Krutidev and Mangal fonts will be used; for English, Times New Roman will be available.

Make sure to practice your typing skills and familiarize yourself with the required fonts to ensure you meet the test's requirements.
