• will remain closed until

Hi!
I read the following in a TOEIC book:

“The Jarman Museum of Literature in Cardiff has been closed for many months now, and that is why we are excited to announce its reopening this autumn. On 14 October, the main area will open to the public. …

Portions of the museum and the adjacent library will remain closed until 18 October, when the entire complex will finally reopen for the first time in over eight months.” ((ETS TOEIC Test Gongsik Jonghaabsul))

I don’t think the original sentence “Portions of the museum and the library will remain closed until 18 October, when the entire complex will reopen in eight months” was well written. On “18 October”, you can NOT open the portions of the museum and the library because the whole museum and the library will be CLOSED ON THAT DAY! (Two apparently CONTRADICTORY statements: “Portions of the museum and the library will remain closed until 18 October.” vs. “On 18 October, the entire complex will reopen in eight months.”)

Thus, the original sentence should be rewritten as ‘Portions of the museum and the adjacent library will NOT OPEN until 18 October, when the entire complex will finally reopen for the first time in over eight months.’ (Two apparently COMPATIBLE statements: ‘Portions of the museum and the library will remain closed until 17 October.” vs. “On 18 October, the entire complex will reopen in eight months.”)

What do you think? Do you agree with me?
Thanks in advance.
