Will Or Would

Hello everyone,

Is either "will" or "would" correct in the following sentence?

He had been asked to take George to Paris with him where he will/would be educated.

Regards,

JA

Top answer

'would' is the normal choice. 'will' works only in the less usual situation where the trip to Paris and the ensuing education has not yet started — although 'would' also works there. So 'would' is the choice that makes sense for more situations than 'will'.
