Grammar

Will = must, would = be probably ???

Hi grammar experts,

I have a question about a usage of 'will' and 'would'. I realize that they are used for showing probability, like in :

"That will be the 5.15 train. (= That must be the the 5.15 train) "

or

" That would be Fred. He calls everyday at 7 o'clock sharp." (That is probably Fred.)

Then, can I change this sentence into one with will

This book must be out of print at this point. --> This book will be out of print at this point.

This book is probably out of print at this point --> This book would be out of print at this point.

Thanks so much guys!!!!

That sounds reasonable.

Consider also, however, that in this sort of context, 'would' is a more modest (i.e. polite) form of 'will', not a difference in intent.
