Will join vs will be joining

Hi
Can somebody clarify the difference between " will join by Monday" vs "will be joining by Monday"

Not much difference and, I believe, no rules. I would use 'will join' in this case, because it expresses a time limit. "Will be joining" might sound better in the context of "soon" or "sometime in the future" (I'm thinking about it).
