Will have been or will be... ?

Howdy,

Is my sentence correct?

Well, if an Estionian is going to pick strawberries in Finland, then most probably half of them will have been eaten even before they get to a basket Emotion: smile

Thanks!

That is a correct use of the future perfect. However, a picky little point. I prefer not to use "before" in this case, because the berries never get there, as compared to "I will have crossed ten streets before I get to the hotel".

Philip:
I like "before" - it emphaizes the idea that they are on their way to the basket, and are intercepted.

The sentence is grammatically, but probably not politically correct.
