Will close it or will have closed it

What is the difference between following two sentences?

Why secound one is more natural in common usage?

1) They will close 34 percent of Gap stores worldwide

2) They will have closed 34 percent of Gap stores worldwide

The original article.

By 2013, the company will have just an estimated 700 of their “namesake” Gap stores, down from 1,056 in 2007—and they will have closed 34 percent of Gap stores worldwide.

Thanks,

Why is the second sentence more natural in common usage? Because no one, no where can fortell the future with total accuracy. Perhpas Gap will close only 650 of thier stores, leaving them with 32% (don't do the math) by the end of 2013.

  • The point is, the percentage of stores they will have closed (compared with 2007) will depend upon the number of stores they will have open in 2013.
