"Will be/going to be" in a particular case

1) "The next presidential election is going to be held in 2016."

2) "The next presidential election will be held in 2016."

Are both correct? If so, which one is better and why?
1a) "There are many speculations that Hilary Clinton will run for president in 2016."

1b) "There are many speculations that Hilary Clinton is going to run for president in 2016."

Are both correct? If so, which one is better and why?
