Will be v-ing VS. will v

What's the difference between the following?

1. We will soon be landing at Incheon Airport.
2. We will soon land at Incheon Airport.

Top answer

Both sentences effectively mean the same thing but I would say that the continuous tense invites the listener to visualize the process of landing while the simple tense is just a statement of fact. The first sentence sounds a little nicer, so to speak.
