will

Hi
Please help me with this:

When she comes here, she will go near the window and see if the ivy creeper is fine.

1.Is the use of will OK?
(I remember learning that 'will ' is used to a person characteristic even if it happens always.)

2. Is will OK if it is whenever in place of when?
( I have this question because whenever being a strong indication of present will sounds a little odd in the sentence.)
