Will

For example one of my teammates plays only with famas but will pick a better weapon for us and exchange it for a famas.

What does "will" mean in such cases? Does the same apply for the past as well? Can I say "picks" instead of "will pick"?

If it a make of weapon, then it should be capitalized: Famas.

What's the function of the "will" in this sentence?

Well, it really doesn't make any sense—what is being exchanged for the Famas? Which weapon does each player end up with? Anyway, I suppose 'will' is the 'will' of prediction.
