I don't know what is true in this example-

He will be back by Friday or he will have been back by Friday?

Hi, I don't know what is true in this example- Say "I don't know which of these examples is correct". He will be back by Friday or he will have been back by Friday? #2 can be correct in an unusual context, but in everyday English #1 is correct and normal.

#2 can be correct in an unusual context, but in everyday English #1 is correct and normal. eg



Q - Can I speak to Tom, please?

A - He went to Montreal. He will be back
