Wiggle or wriggle?

Hi, Please help! Often when you dress a toddler, he/she wiggles or wriggles? .......So do you say "Don't wiggle" or "Don't wriggle"? ......Thanks.

Not easy to draw a conclusion from the dictionary entries. I found they can be used interchangeably sometimes.

It seems to me that wiggle is followed by a part of the body, and wriggle by the whole body.

I agree, it's not easy. Sometimes they are interchangeable, sometimes they are not. Personally, I would not worry too much about which word you use when speaking. Either one will be understood.
