Why/Because?

A: "Why did x happen?"

B: "X happened because Y."

Is this saying that "y" is the only reason "x" happened?


A: "Are you saying that Person C won because you gave him a drink?"

B: "Yes."

Does this mean that Person B is saying that "him giving Person C a drink" is the only reason he won?
