Why X Essay?

Below is my Why Virgini Essay. Could someone peer review it? Thanks!

The cost of law school is an extremely important consideration, and the University of Virginia School of Law offers me the luxury of paying instate tuition for one of the nation’s premier legal educations.

Geographically, UVA is an ideal fit for me. Having experienced both country and city life, I appreciate Charlottesville’s rare ability to balance the appeal of an urban locale with enchanting natural beauty. Moreover, with family living in Madison County and Fredericksburg, I have deep ties to the region.

In addition, my brother is a first year undergraduate at UVA. Living and studying in the same area as my brother would be financially convenient, as it simplifies my search for housing, and would provide us with the invaluable bond of family support. Furthermore, my mother and youngest brother occasionally travel to the University of Virginia Medical Center. Though their visits are infrequent, having the ability to support them because of my close proximity would be a blessing.

The University of Virginia School of Law would also aid me in my career aspirations. I hope to work in Virginia, and UVA’s excellent academic reputation and proven ability to place graduates within the state is a major appeal. Also, my experiences growing up in southwest Virginia have exposed me to the complex issues surrounding industry and the environment – on one hand, some industry destroys the environment, such as strip mining, but also employs entire communities. I am interested in environmental law because of these issues, which is why I am attracted to UVA’s Environmental and Conservation Clinic. Working with environmental groups under the supervision of some of the nation’s top legal minds promises to be a valuable experience for my career goals.

I see no major English problems. The last paragraph is quite good and you should expand upon it. However, I fail to see how a law school admissions officer would find much interest in your financial situation, Charlottesville’s urban/rural appeal, and intimate family healthcare matters.
