Why would he get a bouns?
hello guys~ i don't know why "would" was used in the following sentenses and i'd like to know would's usage that was written in the following sentenses.
1.A:I'm upset. My bonus was thousand dollars and Jack's was two thousand dollars.
B:Why would he get a bonus two times as big as yours?
? Also i want to know what is different among the following sentenses.
'why would he get a bonus ~? and why did he get a bonus~? and why does he get a bonus~?'
2. Let's start with what you’re talking about: the standing ovation that he gets.
Why would he get this standing ovation?
? this sentense is like the above sentense that is 'why would he get a bonus?'
but i don't know why 'would' was used in this sentense.
