why use this phrase?

Why use this phrase (clause??)'depend on' will do almost the same job, I think? Thank you.

Lord thank you that you made me realize that victory is dependent on your power.

When I look up a dictionary, it noted that a clause is one that has a verb. Would you categorize the underlined part as a clause?

In any language there are many ways to say things. In this case, you could use the verb depend, you would just have to put it in the third person singular: ... victory depends on your power.

That introduces the last clause in your sentence: ... that victory is dependent on your power. In other words, the three underlined words don'
