Why this use 'to' in the sentence? Don't expect Simon to help you with your report.

Hello everyone,

I have got a question.

As you can see in the following sentence,
"Don't expect Simon to help you with your report. "
Why used to in the sentence?

Can I use without 'to'?

"Don't expect Simon help you with your report. "

What 's different between them?

Because 'expect' is one of those verbs that is followed by a to- infinitive. That all there is to it.

I expect John to bring my bag.

I expect my bag to be there when I arrive.

I expect to be promoted net week.
