00We can use "the place where", "the time when", "the reason why" etc, but why they say we can not use "01u00the way how02u00"?02br
02br
02br
00And I found out there's one example of the use of "the way how."02br

00The song: Tamale by Fatman Scoop 02br

00Na na na (You can tell that she's a Tamale) 02br

00I think even if strict grammarian opposes to use 'the way how, people use 'the way how' anyhow.02br

00My question is 02br
02br
00Is 'the way how S+V' OK?02br
02br
00If it's not OK, why is that?02br

I tell my students that "the way" means "how" and therefore these two words used together are redundant. You can say "I know the way to do it." Or you can say, " I know how to do it." Placing the two words together is like saying, "I know how how to do it." It is not a good idea to use song lyrics as an example of proper grammar--they are notorius for bad grammar!

So is it possible to say: 'i would like to compare the way how the main charachters of the novels forge their identity in London...'. Or I should just say 'the way they forge their identity'?
