Why there are different tense after the same conditional clause?

Please help me here, I am so confused by the if clause after seeing so many different situations:

If you've ever had anything like this happen to you, you know it is a hugely damaging, frightening, sopping mess.If you've ever used a computer, you've used an operating system. But if you've ever been to the movies, you'd be familiar with their scent. If you've ever been drenched by a dog, you'll know how efficient this technique is.If you've ever swung an axe against a tree, you know chipping away wood takes a lot of force. If you've ever been on a ship or ferry in the open sea, you might have spotted dolphins swimming alongside. My question is, if +present perfect tense means this is a conditional clause, right? What kind of tense should I use in the main clause? My understanding main clause tense should be used according to the situation the speaker is referring, am I right about this? Thanks and I hope I have made my question clear.
