Why some people lke to be called JT?

Hi,
Do you know why heaps of men like to be called JT?

I did some research about it, and below is the only info I got.
http://www.allthebabynames.com/BabyName/nickname/initials/J.T.aspx
In the website, it indicates the meaning of the name JT,
so I'm also wondering that did their parents mean to name them to have the initial JT?

Example of JT people:
the host of Wipe Out.
one player in Survivor.

Thanks.

Hi, Welcome to the Forums. I don't know anyone personally named JT. One of my co-workers went by JR, (the initials, not Junior) though.

  • And there is the famous fictional oilman JR Ewing.
  • Usually men go by their initials because they don't like their given names, or it might be a nickname they had as a child.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
My real name is quite hard to pronounce to English speaking people.
Sometimes I use the initials as well, which is NP.
Furthermore, I also use the initial in the other way which is Ng.
The reason is: My first name spells N.g.o.c
In my language, in this case, Ng is the consonant and o,c is the vowel. (not sure whether it is the right way to tell y

Hi
If a person's name is difficult to say for other people, they will often adopt a nickname. I know some Chinese executives who visited my city to go to school. When we went to dinner, I was surprised that they introduced themselves as Peter, James, Regie and Thomas. Of course these were not their real Chinese names, but they adopted their favorite English names during their visit.

In my case my grandfather and father had the first same name (different middle) and I became a junior, so 3 with the same first name. JT has been used since birth for me and I never cared to change that.

I can't imagine where all these heaps of men are living. I don't know a single one of them.

Many people go by their initials, so you'll find a lot of that, but they are not by any stretch of the imagination all, or even mostly, JT.
