Why Past Perfect?

Hello.

What's the reason to use PP here?

It must've been love

But it's over now.

It must've been good

But I lost it some how.

I must've been love

But it's over now.

From the moment we touched

Till the time had run out.



Isn't it that PP is used before the last action is completed?

It tells us that the action of "the time running out" was complete at a certain point in the past.
