Why not "consider about"

I know that consider about is totally wrong!

e.g. I will consider about your suggestion.

Instead, think about is correct!

e.g. I will think about your suggestion.

But my children asked me why. I am unable to explain to them the reasons. Any help? Or just there is no way to understand but simply memorize the difference of every verb?
