Why no article?
Hello all!
This time I am puzzled with the following sentence:
"Find it, and three rings that the Dwarf-sires possessed of old shall be returned to you."
I can't figure out why there's no article before "three rings". I'd have used "the three rings" because the following clause is restrictive (IMHO).

I believe there were 7 rings in total.
Therefore there is no definite article required as the meaning is - "three (of the) rings that the dwarf-sires ......."
