Why no article?
Hello all,
Could someone explain me why in the sentence below there's no definite article at the place indicated by _?
«And just like the electric company, we charged for every cycle of computing
that was used. Of _ four thousand laboratory employees, perhaps a quarter used the main computers.»
If it's ok to omit the article, is the definite article also correct there?
