Why italicize?

Hi, I think italicizing is used when you are naming large pieces of writing like books and movies and others. Then I saw this. Why are they italicized?

The gallery has a lot of hands-on exhibits and the gallery has three parts: In the Earth, Around the World, and Close to Home.
