Why isn't IT spiderman?

Hi! everyone.

Could you tell me the grammatical function of "it" here? What is "it"(in bold) refering to?

Source : Friends

Phoebe: Hey! Why isn’t it Spiderman? Y’know like Goldman, Silverman...

Chandler:‘Cause it’s-it’s not his last name.

Phoebe: It isn’t?

Chandler: No, it’s not like, like Phil Spiderman. He’s a spider, man. Y'know like ah, like Goldman is a last name, but there’s no Gold Man.

Should she not have said, "why isn't there spiderman?"?

No. they were talking about a name, not the plausible existence of the character.

Chandler:‘ The name is Arachno-guy. ("It" in the next line needs a reference to some inanimate object.)

Phoebe: Hey! Why isn’t it (the name) Spiderman? Y’know like Goldman, Silverman...
