Why is this object postposed after an adverbial phrase?

In the following sentence, the object 'the current daily volume' is postposed after the adverbial phrase 'to the previous day's volume'.
I'd like to know what kind of object did a writer this reversal with?

OBV involves adding to the previous day's volume the current daily volume when the closing price increases, and subtracting the current day’s volume when the closing price decreases.

* OBV: On Balance Volume [used in the daily stock market]

In advance, Thank you for your help.

The writer wishes to juxtapose the adverb to its verb, slightly heighten the focus on the object by shifting ot down the sentence, and paralleling the first adverbial's position with that of the one that follows. All of that is mostly the unconscious style of the writer.
