Why is there "ed" on design

Hi, I saw this on one of the website. I am wondering, why is there an "ed" on "design" if I don't see any "to be?" Thanks

myQueue is a Netflix-like movie queue designed to help you keep track of your Redbox rentals

Also is my question sentence correct and have no grammar errors? Do I put a period after "website" and a comma after "wondering?"
