Why is there an "ed" on "allow"

Why is there "ed" on "allow?" I don't see any "to be." Does "s" go on "food?"

No food or drink allowed!

Do/does "s" go/es on"food?" Is this sentence correct?

It's understood to be "No food or drink [is] allowed!

"Food" and "drink" are both taken as uncountable. Plurals (countables) would not be incorrect, but singulars here are traditional. "Drink" is sometimes made plural, but "food"
