Why is "information about" a collocation?

Question

Hello, If we argue the definition of 'information', the "information abot" should not become a collocation.We know "information" = something which gives knowlege into which news / facts are formed.So,   "information" might colocate with "concerning" / "with regard to" / "in connection with" but "about" does not. for "about" = on the subject of .

Mister.In {Could you give me some information about flights Cairo, please?},"information concering / with regard to / in connection with fights to Cairo"  ----- "flights to Cairo" are for making the information is ok.But "information about flights to Cairo"-------"about" used to say "information" that wants to have "flights to Cairo" known unto who ;But here the "you" want to know the information given is formed by flights Cairo, not have "flights Cairo" known unto himself or others.So, "about" is observably different from the others in meaning. Though those way end in knowing flights to Cairo, but the processes are different from each other.
