Why is a definite article used in here?

"Nicole uploaded a picture of the lunch boxes their fans sent them, and added, “Wowow the food was delicious. We ate until our stomachs exploded.” ".

There's no statement about the lunch boxes above texts (see the link of quatation below), but a definite article is selected. Why is that?
