Why do you think so?

1. What made you think he died?
2. On what ground do you think he died?

What other expressions similar to #1, #2 are there?
In any chance, can I use "Why do you think as he died?"

ark sang joonI would induce from the above sentence that we are able to use 'that' in place of 'as', but you know we can't.
I mentioned this special use of "as" = "that" only for completeness, or in case you had actually come across it and were quoting a sentence that you had seen. It is not used in standard modern English. If it confuses you, ignore it.
