Why do some people dislike such English? while others keep using it

Hi,

I read an interesting post about the expression(s) "give/have/take a listen" [+] the other day...

The author used the words "abnoxious", "annoying", "irritating" etc. describing his feelings towards this (definitely not universally loved) English...

I guess every time radio announcers, journalists, etc. are using [+] it is like waving a red flag in front of their audience?..

Could you please tell me, just offhand, what other expressions do you think can make a native speaker cringe? ( not sure if "cringe" is the right word here... ). If the list turns out very long, please give me a couple of those "most impressive" :-)

The other day I was listening to a news reporter interviewing someone. It was as if they were scraping their nails on a chalkboard; nearly every other word was "like" and they often interjected an utterly nonsensical and useless "you know". I felt like screaming at them!
