Researchers are finding that marital infidelity is becoming more common and women are as likely as men to have an affair.

As it was pointed out in the Infidelity statistic, a study published in February by the Journal of Sex Research showed that 80 percent of women (compared to 98 percent of men) have frequent fantasies involving persons other than their partner. More than 50 percent of all married women, at some point, cheat on their mates, according to psychologist Bonnie Eaker Weil, who has written several books on adultery.

The fact that large numbers of women are unfaithful is supported by the now well-known statistic that 30% of DNA paternity tests show the man isn't the father of the child in question.

The most common reasons that a woman cheats on her husband, most of the time, is for an emotional affair. Many times she feels that she's not getting the validation at home, she's not being listened to, she's being dismissed, she feels invisible, or he's not spending enough time with her.

In some situations, a woman will marry a man she's not in love with and later when she find her love, will stay with her husband for paying the bills and provide continuity to the family, at the same time be with the other man for love and to satisfy her emotional needs. She may marry someone she doesn't like because her biological clock was ticking, or she married for money, etc., and she knows if she had an affair, it could very well end the relationship.

This is false logic. There are very few paternity tests carried out and you would only do one where there is reason to suspect the 'father' might not be the 'father'. Therefore, out of the women suspected of having their children fathered by other men, 30% have been unfaithful in that way. It says nothing about the overall possibility of any child in the general population being fathered by someone else. Supposing you have 10 women and children. 3 are suspected of having an affair and have aDNA test. 1 of those comes back as negative (30%). Really only 10% (1 out of the original 10) have been proved as fathered by another man. And of course, in real life, nowhere near 30% of families have DNA tests.

This statistic does not support the premise that large numbers of women are unfaithful. Only if every child were DNA tested - or a very large number entirely at random and not just due to existing suspicion - would the result have any corellation to the overall population.

It's rather like saying 60% of people on trial are found guilty of a criminal charge, therefore 60% of the whole population must be guilty of a criminal charge. Just because 30% of children 'trialled' for having other fathers do have other fathers, it doesn't mean that 30% of all children have other fathers.

Advice: don't be dumb with statistics. People use them to try and prove all sorts of points. Look at what they are really proving, not what they want you to imagine from them.

Hi Nona,

Yeah, you've posted the real thing and I really admire it. We must not look the way the statistics are used to make us believe but the real way.

The relation is comprises of faiths and beliefs and we have to learn it ... and cultivate in in our attitude.

When we start loving by thinking, it becomes the process of mind. Human mind is cunning and so it disguises and tries to prove that it's true. Time is the essence of the mind and it looks for the certainty and security so such things happen in the relations.Because people don't try to love from their heart ( though heart is not exactly supposed to love anyway, but refering a literal meaning).

Out of jealousy it happens.

Keep the faith in your heart.

Well, don't show it to your girlfriend otherwise she will be aware of the things and will invent new ways to cheat you, ha ha ha ha ,lol.
