I think about Rush Limbaugh's mocking Michel J. Fox's Parkinson's Disease. The Limbaugh-tomized masses just think he's a hoot. John Stewart, is a liberal but his targets span the entire political spectrum. Dennis Miller was never the epitome of wit but after 9/11 he shifted far to the Right and has been left with Al-Gore-is-stiff jokes regarding global warming. Hillary's fat. Chelsea is "the White House dog." There may seem to be a lot of anger in some liberal comedy, but right-wingers tend to be laced with hate. And they're not funny.

I just watched an old Bill Maher concert. He said when he votes for a Republican he wants two things, a *** and a square. He wants to know that when mommy, the Democrat, is spending too much money he (the Republican) will intervene. What we have now is different. I certainly think that Bill Maher is pretty funny, and I wouldn't exactly call him ... so long as the guy that's doing it is smart and isn't simply lashing out in a stumble-footed way.
