Why are you sad, now?/ Why is he handsome?

1) Why are you sad, now?

When I think that you should not be sad and rather you shoud be happy now, can I say that sentence?

2) Why is he handsome?

When I think that he is not handsome at all but someone says he is handsome, can I say that sentence?

In my first language sysyem, that is possible but I am sure it is okay in English.

What do you native English speakers think?

Thank you so much as usual in advance!

You can just ask: "Why is he sad?" You don't need "now" in that sentence. However, it is possible in some contexts. For example:

I've done everything you've asked. Why are you sad, now?

In other words, I've tried to deal with all the issues that were bothering you, so what is it now that you're not happy abo
