Why Allah?

I was just reading the first transcript that I've been able to find of the entire thirteen-minute bin Laden speech (most were transcripts of the edited five minutes that al Jazeera aired):

It strikes me as odd that "Allah" is usually used in translations to English rather than "God". What do you folks think?
Best regards,

When you have *** on your side, it's not good strategy to let your people realise that your enemy also has *** on HIS side.

Exactly. Many American Christians don't get it that Allah is ***.

IMHO, to say Allah is *** conveys a different nuance than Allah means *** (or translates as ).

True. I've heard people say, "They worship Allah!", as if the word refers to a Satanic deity.
Even some of those who do get it refuse to accept that Allah refers to the *** of Abraham, same as their own.

Always '***' in my experience. I've often had conversations with muslims who wish to stress the inclusivity of Islam. But you can look at that 'inclusivity' from a number of angles

"Allah" is the word used to mean "***" by Christian Arabs. A similar word is also used to mean "***"

Indonesian Christians use "Allah" too. Here's an Indonesian translation of Genesis: .

Yes, and that is the correct nuance - it is (meant to be) the same ***.

Many worldwide don't get it that "Allah" is "***", or "Allah" and "***" are gods.
