Why a days?

I've found an expression "we had a great five days" in audio from some English course book. The audio script in the book also shows the same expression. If this is not a mistake, why a...days? I couldn't find any explanation anywhere. Could anyone explain this?

Top answer

Anonymous a great five days Anonymous Could anyone explain this? Two reasons: the 5 days is considered a single period, and the adjective 'great' defines a single kind of 5-day period.
