Who/whom

I am trying to understand why, in the following sentence construction, 'someone' is not followed by 'whom', being the object form of who.

If someone is the object of the first sentence when you combine the first and the second sentence shouldn't whom therefore become the correct choice?

I found someone. SOMEONE will help me study.

I found someone who will help me study.

Thank you!
