Greetings.

Which is correct?

Jack solved the problem by going directly to Bob's supervisor, WHO/WHOM he knew from an earlier job at the ministry.

If you follow prescriptive rules of grammar, you must use 'whom'. Most speakers of British English would use 'who', and few would object.
