Who/whom

Please could someone help me determine which one of the following sentences is correct?

1) Our earliest memories factor considerably in determining who we turn out to be.

2) Our earliest memories factor considerably in determining whom we turn out to be.

I'm guessing it's the first one but that's just a hunch...

Thanks for your help!

Example: She wanted to know who she was. Here whom is incorrect, isn't?
