Hello. Is the usage of 'whose' limited to indicate possession?

For example:

The boy whose hair is violet was found. (The boy possesses the violet hair.)

But what about examples like the following:

- The magazines whose articles were examined are . . .

- The scholarly periodicals whose book reviews were studied are the following . . .
