whose?

"The school, whose / where parents leave their children, isn't open till next Sunday."

Hello, "where" sounds better. But why not whose?

Top answer

If you used whose, the sentence would mean that the school has parents who leave their children, which is nonsense. You don’t need to include where parents leave their children . Just say The school won’t be open till/until next Sunday.
