Whose..

Hello!

I am wondering if a sentence like the following is grammatically correct and also sounds good:
"Whose boyfriend is he?"
I know we can say:
"Whose boyfriend is that?"
But in my example, as you can notice, we mention someone we are talking about.

p.s we could be pointing at someone we haven´t mentioned yet, in the first case (with that).
