Hello,I am still the same man that/whom you saw ten years ago.Which one is correct, or can we avoid both?thanks,

Strictly speaking, "whom", but "that" could also be used.

Yes. When a relative pronoun is the object of a relative clause-- you saw ten years ago in your sentence, it can be omitted.

If the relative pronoun is the subject of a relative clause, it cannot be omitted:

I am still the same man who worked hard. who is the subject of the clause in this sentence, so it cannot be omitted: ~~I am still the same man worked hard.~~
