You can pair any adjective with any noun, but only a few make sense or are acceptable. For example, you can say "a good dog," but "a gentlemanly dog" does not make sense - these words cannot be paired in English.

Similarly, you cannot pair the words wholesome and incident. These words cannot go together in English.

I maintain that you can't pair the words wholesome and incident. The word incident carries with it the sense of danger, or unpleasantness, or mystery. Therefore the adjectives paired with it need to be of this nature. For example:

In this case I can combine "wholesome" and "incident" together. Though the incident I'm referring to was unpleasant but I gained and learnt much form that. I used these two words together
