This animal can quickly become very aggressive with whoever/whatever comes too close to it when it is eating. Which is the correct choice? Thanks.

My other question is if the sentence can be written as "This animal quickly can become very aggressive..."

The original sentence is "This animal can quickly become very aggressive...".
