Whoever makes a princess laugh would marry her.

1. Whoever makes a princess laugh would marry her. (I don't remember if the tense of the verb make is the past or the present)

2. Whoever found my purse first would get half of the half of the money.

I wonder why it should be would but not will.

What I see is will is higher probability than would, is it not correct?

Q2) If you run after two hares, he or she would then attend middle and high schools that specialize in science.

In that sentence, is there no other option but would?

Top answer

1-- Yes, will is the correct choice there unless some condition appears in the greater context. 2-- The sentence makes no sense whatsoever. What does 'you' and 'two hares' have to do with 'he or she' and 'middle school'??
